About The Position

As the Director of Dining Services, you will provide overall leadership for a 125-bed acute care hospital dining services operation. This role is responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 30 hourly associates and 2 salaried managers while ensuring outstanding patient, guest, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a highly visible, hands-on leader who excels in employee engagement, customer service, and client relationship management. We are seeking someone who can build a positive team culture, drive operational excellence, and deliver a hospitality-focused dining experience for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of foodservice management experience required.
  • Proven success leading, developing, and engaging teams in a service-driven environment.
  • Strong customer service, patient satisfaction, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational financial performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced environment while driving quality, safety, and service excellence.
  • Passion for hospitality, team development, and creating exceptional experiences for patients, customers, and clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Food Service Management, Nutrition, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Healthcare, hospital, senior living, or other healthcare dining experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 30 hourly associates and 2 salaried leaders to achieve operational and service excellence.
  • Foster a culture focused on employee engagement, accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership, department partners, patients, visitors, and customers.
  • Oversee all daily dining services operations, ensuring exceptional patient satisfaction and customer service outcomes.
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership to deliver high-quality food, innovative menus, and exceptional dining experiences.
  • Drive performance through financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and P&L accountability.
  • Monitor quality, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards throughout the operation.
  • Analyze operational and patient satisfaction metrics and implement action plans to achieve performance goals.
  • Lead the implementation of new programs, initiatives, and best practices that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and partnership with hospital stakeholders.
