About The Position

The Director of Dining Services is responsible for the complete scheduling and direct supervision of dietary team members. This role involves maintaining essential recording functions such as resident diet records, daily meal counts, cleaning checklists, and quality control records. The position also assists in food preparation, takes orders, and serves food to residents and visitors. Duties include clearing tables, cleaning the dining room and kitchen areas, performing dishwashing and other sanitation tasks, and maintaining adequate supplies at serving stations. The Director identifies residents and familiarizes themselves with their specific dietary needs, conducts inventory of perishable foods and supplies, and orders food and supplies following established procedures. A key responsibility is supervising food production and quality control to maintain the highest standards, as well as maintaining and distributing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The role requires upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining room, performing other duties as assigned by management, and maintaining Quality Assurance of all logs.

Requirements

  • Keep all required licensure (ServSafe, Food Handler's Card, CPR/First Aid) in good standing at all times.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to continuously walk or stand.
  • Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Potential exposure to communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduling and direct supervision of dietary team members.
  • Maintenance of recording functions, i.e. resident diet record, daily meal count, cleaning checklist, and quality control records.
  • Assists in preparation of food items.
  • Takes orders and serves food to residents and visitors as needed.
  • Clears tables, cleans dining room floor, dining room counter area, dishwashing tasks, other cleaning and sanitation duties as needed and as assigned.
  • Maintain adequate supplies at station for serving food, including paper goods, dishes, flatware, glassware, and condiments.
  • Identifies each resident, maintains familiarity with diet needs of each resident.
  • Conducts inventory of perishable foods and supplies as directed.
  • Orders food and supplies following established procedures as directed.
  • Supervises food production/quality control, maintaining highest standards.
  • Maintains and distributes Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Maintains highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining room.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by any member of management.
  • Maintains Quality Assurance of all logs.
