The Director of Dining Services is responsible for the complete scheduling and direct supervision of dietary team members. This role involves maintaining essential recording functions such as resident diet records, daily meal counts, cleaning checklists, and quality control records. The position also assists in food preparation, takes orders, and serves food to residents and visitors. Duties include clearing tables, cleaning the dining room and kitchen areas, performing dishwashing and other sanitation tasks, and maintaining adequate supplies at serving stations. The Director identifies residents and familiarizes themselves with their specific dietary needs, conducts inventory of perishable foods and supplies, and orders food and supplies following established procedures. A key responsibility is supervising food production and quality control to maintain the highest standards, as well as maintaining and distributing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The role requires upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining room, performing other duties as assigned by management, and maintaining Quality Assurance of all logs.
