About The Position

Develops and facilitates faculty learning opportunities that build capacity for effective online, hybrid, and technology-supported teaching. Supports MCC’s course quality processes for online, hybrid, and Canvas-supported courses and helps implement related digital learning initiatives. Coordinates connections among teaching, course design, technology, academic support, and student support resources. Identifies recurring needs in digital learning environments and implements improvements to strengthen processes, resources, faculty development, and support pathways.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, online learning, higher education, or related field.
• Three (3) years of related experience in online teaching, instructional design, educational/faculty development, online course review, or teaching and learning support in higher education.
• An equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
• Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
• Must pass a background check.
• Ability to apply effective practices for online, hybrid, and technology-supported teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of effective digital teaching practices, including instructor presence, interaction, communication, feedback, engagement, and student support.
• Ability to develop and facilitate faculty courses, training, resources, and learning experiences.
• Knowledge of online learning quality frameworks, including Quality Matters or similar frameworks, and ability to support course quality improvement processes.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional work across departments and service areas.
• Ability to identify recurring needs, document patterns, and recommend improvements to processes, resources, faculty development, or support pathways.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, communications, and follow-up activities.
• Excellent communication skills including active listening.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college supported systems.
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-orientated environment.
• Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism in stressful situations.
• Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and facilitates faculty courses, training, resources, and learning experiences that build capacity for effective online, hybrid, and technology-supported teaching.
• Supports the development, scaling, and maintenance of MCC’s process for improving course quality across online, hybrid, and Canvas-supported courses.
• Coordinates implementation of digital learning initiatives in collaboration with Instructional Design Services and others.
• Supports implementation of College expectations for online, hybrid, and Canvas-supported courses, including accessibility, regular and substantive interaction, and recognized course design frameworks.
• Coordinates with Instructional Design Services and faculty to connect digital learning efforts with appropriate design, Canvas, media, accessibility, technology, or academic support resources.
• Coordinates with student and academic support areas to strengthen access to student support services in digital learning environments.
• Identifies recurring needs in digital learning environments and recommends improvements to processes, resources, faculty development, or support pathways.
• Stays current with research, effective practices, and relevant standards for online, hybrid, and technology-supported teaching and learning.
• Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
