About The Position

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing and directing Axess Family Services fundraising, major gifts, planned giving, special events and special campaigns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
Skills to motivate staff, board members and other volunteers
Organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals
Reliable transportation
Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background check
Ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability
Valid, unrestricted State of Ohio driver’s license
3 years’ experience in professional fundraising
Compliance with AFS’ written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute Axess Family Services Annual Fundraising plan.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.
Build a planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts.
Create and execute a strategy for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors.
Oversee the organization of special events
Maintain gift recognition programs.
Coordinate fund raising special events.
Work closely with the management team to focus on fundraising endeavors.
Make public appearances to share information about Axess Family Services.
Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
