About The Position

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. As a member of this valued team, the director of development will be responsible for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of Arts and Sciences prospects for major gifts and principal gifts. This position will work collaboratively with the Foundation team and will report directly to a senior member of the development team at the Arts and Sciences Foundation.

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management.
  • Strong personal integrity and work ethic.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of development, sales or related experience.
  • Experience in a university or major college setting.
  • Successful track record in closing major, principal, and planned gifts.
  • Comprehensive campaign experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience of fundraising staff in positions with management responsibilities.
