The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking to hire qualified candidates for the position of Director of Data Governance. This role leads the enterprise data governance program by defining governance architectures, establishing statewide standards, and operationalizing multi-agency data security compliance and data quality frameworks. The position presents enterprise data risk posture to executive leadership and oversight bodies to secure approval and guide strategic planning, investment decisions, and corrective action. It oversees data quality and observability capabilities by defining measurable standards, implementing monitoring and lineage awareness controls, and ensuring consistent risk mitigation across agencies while ensuring that enterprise data is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. The role also facilitates functional governance councils and partners with legal, security, and compliance teams to establish enforceable data controls, accountability structures, classification and retention standards, and enterprise incident remediation processes.
