About The Position

Wealth Enhancement is seeking a Director of Data Governance to lead the strategic execution and ongoing development of their enterprise data governance program. This role involves shaping governance policy, driving the adoption of data quality practices, and acting as the main liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and executive governance bodies. The position is a remote role. The company offers a base salary range of $165,000.00 to $175,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, information systems, data management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, risk, operations, transformation, or a closely related discipline, including 2 years leading enterprise or cross-functional programs and people
  • Experience with Salesforce and Orion is strongly preferred
  • Experience leading enterprise change and adoption efforts; familiarity with formal change management methods such as ADKAR or Prosci preferred
  • Experience presenting to and working directly with governance boards, committees, or senior executives
  • Experience establishing or advancing a federated data governance operating model strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica
  • Fluency with enterprise reporting platforms, data catalogs, metadata tools, and data-quality platforms
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence without direct authority

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a similarly regulated industry is strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree in a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the enterprise data governance program, including the operating model, multi-year roadmap, governance tiers, decision rights, policy development, standards, procedures, and change control.
  • Lead discussions with the Data Governance Council and executive governance bodies to support project prioritization, resolve cross-domain issues, and communicate the criticality and urgency of escalation points.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business units, IT and data teams, risk and compliance partners, and organizational leadership for all data governance matters.
  • Partner with executive data owners, data owners, data stewards, and data custodians to define data definitions, ownership, authoritative sources, lineage, quality standards, controls, and remediation requirements.
  • Track and report on data quality issues, remediation progress, critical-data-element coverage, policy adoption, certified report use, program KPIs, and business outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Drive change management initiatives to build awareness, foster buy-in, and support sustained adoption of data governance practices.
  • Develop and deliver training and communications to support the rollout of governance policies.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments relevant to data governance and recommend program updates as needed.
  • Define the data governance technology strategy and manage requirements for governance tooling, including business case development, vendor relationships, implementation oversight, configuration, administration, adoption, and value realization.
  • Direct the Data Governance Team in work allocation, quality expectations, development planning, and performance objectives.
