About The Position

The Director of Data & Analytics leads Barge’s Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) and builds the foundation for trusted, reusable data and self‑service analytics across the firm. This role is accountable for improving leadership visibility and decision speed by establishing shared enterprise measures, brokering definitions across business owners, and building a scalable data platform that enables better decisions and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, analytics, or other relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, BI, data engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience implementing data governance practices that improve trust and reuse without creating bottlenecks
  • Experience building self‑service reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Experience implementing modern data architecture preferably experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure
  • Ability to partner with and influence executive and operational leaders; strong relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into durable data products (datasets, metrics, models) and usable reporting experiences
  • Strong understanding of data quality, data modeling, integration concepts, and data lifecycle management
  • Working knowledge of privacy, security, and data classification considerations in an enterprise environment
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity; able to broker shared definitions and resolve conflicts across teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the enterprise data strategy aligned to business priorities, digital modernization, and transformation initiatives
  • Create and maintain the enterprise data roadmap including data platforms, governance frameworks, data quality, and business intelligence initiatives
  • Foster a culture of enablement and partnership Data succeeds when business teams can move faster without dependency
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders ability simplify complex topics across personas
  • Build and lead a high‑performing COE team; hire, coach, and develop talent while setting clear expectations and accountability
  • Broker metric and data object definitions across Finance, Operations, Marketing, and HR to eliminate conflicting truths and reduce rework
  • Create reusable, well‑governed datasets and semantic models that reduce manual blending and accelerate decision‑making
  • Define federated data governance guardrails (quality, access, security, reuse) that enable business ownership while ensuring enterprise consistency
  • Partner with IT, Security and legal on data protection, risk management, regulatory compliance, and controls
  • Implement data quality monitoring, remediation processes, and continuous improvement mechanisms
  • Build and evolve Barge’s data platform to enable reliable reporting, scalable self‑service analytics, and future advanced analytics/AI
  • Partner closely with IT, Enterprise Applications, and Innovation to ensure data is integrated into core workflows and systems of record
  • Deliver and manage a small set of high‑value, cross‑enterprise reporting needs that are complex and business‑critical, while keeping most reporting self‑service
  • Establish measures of success for data and analytics adoption (usage, confidence, cycle time reduction) and communicate progress clearly
  • Improve leadership visibility and decision speed through trusted metrics and accessible analytics
  • Increase self‑service reporting adoption and reduce manual spreadsheet blending and reconciliation
  • Deliver a scalable data platform foundation that supports analytics and AI readiness
