The Civic Engagement Director will monitor and drive department progress toward achievement of DHF’s strategic and operational objectives. This role involves leading advocacy and lobbying efforts, participating in coalitions, and seeking strategic partnerships on behalf of DHF. The Director will present advocacy proposals to the Executive Team and Board of Directors for approval and guidance, and will research and track policies impacting the communities DHF serves. Additionally, the position oversees the development and implementation of non-partisan civic and voter engagement programs to support DHF’s base-building goals, monitors local, regional, and statewide governing body activities, and develops campaign plans in coordination with DHF Organizing teams and partners. The role also includes developing and preparing civic and outreach materials, overseeing monitoring and report forms, and assisting with department calendars and reporting systems. A key responsibility is developing and overseeing DHF’s Civic Engagement Programming and maximizing departmental capacity to use technological innovations in civic engagement. The Director will also supervise and coach Civic Engagement Staff.
