About The Position

FAFCU is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Compliance to lead the Credit Union's enterprise compliance program and serve as the designated BSA Officer. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, with primary oversight of BSA/AML/OFAC programs, regulatory change management, vendor compliance risk, fair lending monitoring, consumer compliance, and exam readiness. The Director of Compliance partners closely with leaders across the organization to develop and maintain effective compliance policies, procedures, controls, and training programs that protect the Credit Union while supporting operational excellence. This position serves as a trusted advisor to management, regulators, and auditors, driving a proactive compliance culture through risk assessments, monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong financial-services compliance experience, expertise in BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for helping organizations navigate an evolving regulatory environment while delivering exceptional service to members.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in credit union, banking, or financial-services compliance/risk roles, with direct BSA/AML/OFAC responsibilities.
  • Experience serving as a designated BSA Officer.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, legal codes and government regulations.
  • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

  • Professional certifications such as BSACS, ACAMS, CUCO, NCCO, or equivalent.
