As Vitra continues to grow across multiple MassHealth program lines, we are seeking a Director of Compliance who wants to build and lead the compliance function for a fast-growing, multi-program organization, with direct access to executive leadership and a genuine mandate to shape how the organization manages regulatory excellence.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive healthcare experience; experience in healthcare compliance required.
  • Experience with Medicaid and/or MassHealth programs, preferably in home-based settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing compliance, quality, audit, regulatory, or operational teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building or leading an organization-wide compliance program.
  • Proven success leading regulatory audits, investigations, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels.
  • Able to analyze data and translate it into action.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with teams to translate compliance metrics into operational, executable actions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid-regulated programs.
  • Experience leading, managing, or supporting NCQA accreditation preparation, survey activities, and ongoing compliance maintenance.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the compliance strategy and annual compliance work plan, aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the annual compliance risk assessment and develop corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure organizational readiness for regulatory audits, accreditation reviews, and government inquiries.
  • Report compliance trends, risks, and performance to executive leadership on a defined cadence.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory changes and lead implementation of required updates across programs.
  • Oversee all compliance monitoring, auditing, investigation, and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure compliance with MassHealth program regulations, CMS requirements, HIPAA, and OIG guidance.
  • Lead organizational responses to regulatory findings, external audits, and compliance investigations.
  • Provide oversight of corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) and verify the effectiveness of remediation.
  • Partner with Legal, Operations, Clinical Services, and Human Resources on regulatory and compliance initiatives.
  • Direct the internal audit program, including clinical documentation reviews and billing integrity monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting tools.
  • Translate audit findings into measurable operational improvements in partnership with program leaders.
  • Align compliance initiatives with quality improvement strategies alongside Quality leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the compliance team, including auditors, specialists, and clinical reviewers.
  • Establish departmental goals, manage the department budget, and allocate compliance resources effectively.
  • Develop and oversee organization-wide compliance education and training programs.
  • Represent the organization with regulatory agencies, payers, and industry associations.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Vitra reflecting our vision, mission, and values.
  • Show genuine interest and compassion for the communities we serve and commitment to the diversity of our clients and team members.
