About The Position

The primary responsibility is to ensure and manage compliance requirements for all properties within the portfolio. The Director of Compliance will inspire, motivate, manage, and develop on-site staff and in addition, will participate in the development, evolution, and maintenance of policy, procedure, and workflow of assigned portfolio.

  • Experience with computerized HUD Manager or comparable computer software, Yardi/Windows/Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven year’s multi-site compliance experience preferred, including LIHTC, HUD, and national compliance certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains an achievable policy and procedural manual outlining all facets of affordable programs and its subsidiaries. Stays abreast of all industry updates.
  • Reviews and abides by all terms of development/property regulatory agreements.
  • Ensures accurate, thorough and timely reporting; promotes and maintains positive relations with all state agencies, Tax Credit Sub-allocators, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
  • Responsible for timeliness and accuracy of documentation of all compliance audits at the property and corporate level, including but not limited to Tax Credit and Section 8.
  • Performs resident file reviews to ensure all documentation and filing requirements are met and documentation within is complete and accurate.
  • Assists property management with initial lease-up efforts for new developments ensuring all units are leased in compliance of all financial documents.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal organizational policies and procedures.
  • Works with affiliate board and property staff on creating plans for preserving the site’s long-term affordability.
  • Provides direction, mentoring, and conflict resolution for all Compliance staff.
  • Provides verbal presentations of property compliance progress.
  • Coordinates all training for current and/or new managers or staff (acquisition) or new construction.
  • Coordinates with heads of departments to assess and identify areas of concern, or of needed improvement.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding and consistent use of Yardi software.
  • Navigates throughout the Yardi software on a consistent basis.
  • Assists with problem solving in Yardi.
  • Demonstrates regular and consistent attendance as outlined by company policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
