About The Position

Waabi is seeking a Director of Communications to build and run its earned media and executive communications function. The role will shape how logistics, technology, and business audiences understand Waabi and its Physical AI technology, while positioning the company accurately against relevant peers. The Director will work closely with the Director of Marketing, IR, the Head of People, and the CEO’s Chief of Staff, and will manage the communications agency’s day-to-day work. As the company grows, the role may develop into building and leading a communications team. The position owns media relationships and coverage, executive communications and thought leadership, communications guardrails, and internal communications strategy. Success in the first 6–12 months includes establishing consistent messaging across press, blog, and executive communications; securing a growing cadence of accurate, positive media placements; strengthening leadership’s external voice; and improving the agency’s output quality or placement rate. The US hourly range is listed as $165,000–$255,000 USD. The company also provides equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus. Waabi describes itself as an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and accessible workplace, and may use AI tools to support parts of its hiring process; final hiring decisions are made by humans.
