Director of Communications
About The Position
Peregrine is hiring a Director of Communications to join its growing Communications team and tell the company and technology story to external and internal audiences, including media, third-party validators, customers, prospects, and partners. Based in San Francisco and reporting to the VP of Communications, this person will lead an integrated technology, product, and AI communications program to increase awareness of Peregrine and its platform. The Director will amplify Peregrine’s technological vision by showing the value it delivers to traditional and new media audiences. The role calls for a hands-on communications professional who can develop compelling company and product narratives, build thought leadership content and platforms for executives, and collaborate across the organization. Peregrine seeks a critical thinker with strong writing and communication skills, deep AI, security, and public safety product knowledge, established traditional and new media relationships, and enthusiasm for experimentation and the future of cities.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of communications experience in-house, at an agency, or a combination of both.
- Deep relationships in traditional and new media.
- Strong writing skills and awareness of current news and headlines.
- Experience across external and internal communications initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams to drive alignment and clarity.
- Deep knowledge of AI, security, and public safety products.
Responsibilities
- Drive the external product, technology, and AI communications strategy in partnership with product and growth marketing, content, and leadership teams.
- Work with an external PR agency to develop and execute communications across traditional and new media, including Substack, podcasts, speaking, awards, and influencers.
- Grow and diversify thought leadership on AI, trust, privacy, data governance, and real-world technology applications, including building an engineering and product blog.
- Partner across teams on external events and brand marketing opportunities to amplify Peregrine’s leadership.
- Support internal communications, including the monthly All Hands and an internal newsletter for cross-company alignment.
