About The Position

This senior, highly visible role at LexisNexis Legal & Professional involves shaping and driving the global corporate, AI, and technology leadership narrative. The position requires combining excellent judgment with exceptional execution, moving comfortably between strategic counsel, leading high-profile communications, and managing operational details. The Director will develop communications strategies, advise senior executives, identify reputational opportunities and risks, work with reporters, draft press releases and corporate messaging, and handle employee communications. The role aims to strengthen LexisNexis’s position as a global leader in legal AI and technology by developing compelling narratives, identifying news and thought leadership opportunities, and maintaining a consistent flow of high-quality communications. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly independent, precise, and relentlessly focused on results, building strong relationships across the business and identifying stories early. A key aspect of the role is using AI to improve the quality, speed, and scale of communications work, including research, content development and review, information synthesis, and the creation of AI-enabled processes. The Director will report to the VP, Communications and Global PR for LexisNexis Legal & Professional and work closely with the CEO of LexisNexis Legal and senior leaders across Product, Technology, Marketing, and Communications globally.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive corporate communications and public relations experience, preferably in technology, AI, information services, professional services, or another complex global business.
  • Significant experience leading corporate, technology, and product communications programs.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex PR initiatives from strategy and messaging through content development, media execution, and measurement.
  • Strong experience communicating AI, emerging technology, and other complex subject matter in clear, compelling, customer-focused ways.
  • Advanced practical experience using generative AI in professional communications work; experience with AI agents, skills, automations, or AI-enabled processes strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and message-development skills, with the ability to produce high-quality work quickly and accurately.
  • Extensive experience advising C-suite and senior executives.
  • Strong media relationships and a deep understanding of what makes a compelling story.
  • Demonstrated judgment managing sensitive corporate and reputational issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a large, highly matrixed global organization.
  • Experience leading teams, agencies, and complex cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to prioritize independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and deliver against aggressive deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate communications strategies that strengthen LexisNexis’s reputation and advance business priorities.
  • Shape and drive the company’s external narrative around AI, technology, innovation and product leadership, with a focus on customer outcomes.
  • Lead media strategy for major company announcements, product launches, partnerships, acquisitions, research, executive thought leadership and industry events.
  • Create and manage a disciplined communications and content calendar focused on sustaining the company’s leadership position in AI, technology and legal innovation.
  • Lead internal communications for LexisNexis Legal, connecting employees to business strategy, priorities and company direction.
  • Lead the strategy, planning and execution of global employee town halls, including agenda development, CEO remarks and scripts, speaker coordination and presentation content.
  • Use AI as an integral part of daily communications work, including research, drafting, editing, content review, analysis and planning.
  • Operate as a senior communications leader who can independently lead complex initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Build strong relationships throughout a large, matrixed global organization and develop the internal network necessary to understand the business deeply.
  • Prioritize competing requests based on business importance, reputational impact, audience value, and communications opportunity.
  • Manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously against aggressive deadlines without losing attention to detail.
