Director of Communications & PR

McAfee
$141,680 - $232,760Hybrid

About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Communications to lead and scale our worldwide PR function. This role will define and drive our global narrative - translating product innovation into compelling consumer stories that resonate across markets, media, and culture. You will own the development and execution of high-impact communications strategies, leading earned media and product storytelling through both traditional and non-traditional tactics. You’ll also help continue to shift communications from feature‑led announcements to experience‑led storytelling, helping consumers understand how technology shows up in real life, in moments that matter. This role requires a leader who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level - building campaigns, guiding teams, and rolling up their sleeves to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role will report to the VP of Communications and oversee a globally dispersed team. The role is hybrid but candidates must be based in either New York or San Francisco. At McAfee, your work helps keep people safe every day all over the world. You’ll join a team that’s reimagining how a legacy brand shows up with clarity, humanity, and creative courage. We're looking for a seasoned communications pro who geeks out all things tech, has their finger on the pulse of the cultural zeitgeist, knows how to directly connect earned media with driving meaningful business results, and you come to the table with an impressive roster of media contacts across consumer, tech, culture and lifestyle beats.
