About The Position

This position is responsible for managing public communications, media relations, and community information on behalf of the municipality, while also supporting economic development initiatives that attract, retain, and expand local businesses. The position works under the direction of the City Manager and requires strong communication, project management, research, and relationship-building skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, business, public administration, economic development, marketing, or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in municipal government, public communications, economic development, or related roles (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Must have a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment
  • Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
  • Must be able to work outside of regular business hours as needed
  • On-call availability during emergencies or critical incidents
  • Office environment with frequent public contact.
