About The Position

This is a mission-critical operational leadership role intended for a proven commercial construction executive who has successfully managed project management teams, field operations teams, and commercial construction operations departments. The successful candidate will immediately assume operational leadership responsibility over multiple active commercial tenant fit-out and interior construction projects currently operating under aggressive schedules and demanding client expectations. The successful candidate will be expected to make an immediate impact from day one. The first 90 days of this position are critical. The selected individual must be capable of entering an active construction environment, quickly evaluating project status, identifying operational deficiencies, implementing accountability systems, leading project teams, directing field personnel, and ensuring successful project execution. This role is intended to transition into a permanent leadership position following successful completion of the initial operational objectives. The Director of Commercial Operations will serve as the senior operational leader responsible for project execution and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years commercial construction experience
  • Previous experience as Director of Operations, Vice President of Operations, Director of Construction, Construction Executive, Regional Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or equivalent leadership role
  • Proven experience managing multiple Project Managers and Superintendents simultaneously
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple active commercial projects simultaneously
  • Strong commercial interiors and tenant fit-out experience
  • Strong scheduling experience
  • Strong procurement experience
  • Strong subcontractor management experience
  • Strong client-facing experience
  • Ability to operate effectively under aggressive schedules and demanding client expectations
