We are seeking an experienced Director of Commercial Excellence to lead and scale our commercial operations strategy, driving operational efficiency, revenue growth, and customer lifecycle performance. This strategic yet hands-on leader will optimize commercial processes across sales, customer success, renewals, forecasting, and revenue operations while partnering cross-functionally to improve visibility, accountability, and business outcomes. As the leader of the Commercial Excellence function, you will champion AI and automation initiatives, streamline workflows, develop scalable systems and reporting, and ensure teams have the tools, knowledge, and operational support needed to deliver exceptional customer experiences and accelerate business growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial operations, revenue operations, sales operations, customer operations, business operations, or related leadership roles
  • Proven experience scaling commercial and operational processes in a growth-oriented technology, SaaS, industrial technology, or recurring revenue environment
  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle management including acquisition, onboarding, retention, renewals, and expansion strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to build and optimize scalable operational workflows, systems, and governance processes
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational initiatives across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Finance, Technical Support, and Engineering
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with experience managing KPIs, forecasting, pipeline visibility, revenue metrics, and operational performance reporting
  • Experience managing CRM, ERP, subscription management, quoting, or commercial operations platforms
  • Strong experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, Power BI, Tableau, or similar operational systems and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency through AI, automation, workflow optimization, and process standardization
  • Strong understanding of pricing, contracts, MSAs, commercial risk management, and operational compliance processes
  • Proven leadership experience including team development, performance management, organizational alignment, and change management
  • Strong communication and executive-level collaboration skills with the ability to influence across departments and leadership teams
  • Ability to operate strategically while also driving operational execution and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field required
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial technology, pipeline integrity, IoT, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models
  • Experience supporting both hardware and software commercial operations environments
  • Familiarity with subscription revenue models, renewal operations, and customer health management frameworks
  • Experience implementing AI-assisted workflows, automation tools, or operational analytics platforms
  • Experience supporting international expansion, channel partner operations, or reseller management
  • Background in RevOps, Customer Operations, or integrated commercial operations leadership
  • Experience leading digital transformation or operational scaling initiatives
  • MBA or advanced business/operations education preferred
  • Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or operational excellence certifications preferred

  • Design, optimize, and scale commercial operations processes that improve efficiency, accelerate revenue growth, and support a world-class customer experience across the entire customer lifecycle.
  • Build operational infrastructure, systems, and reporting that provide visibility into KPIs, forecasting, pipeline health, customer retention, and overall business performance.
  • Transform data into actionable insights that drive informed decisions, operational excellence, and measurable results.
  • Create alignment across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Finance, Operations, and Engineering to remove barriers, improve execution, and drive organizational success.
  • Improve customer retention, renewals, adoption, and long-term account health by implementing scalable processes and operational governance throughout the customer journey.
  • Develop high-performing teams, build bench strength, create accountability, and foster a culture of trust, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operational transformation initiatives while ensuring day-to-day excellence and accountability.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and process optimization to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and create scalable solutions for future growth.
