Director of Cloud Operations & IT - Hybrid Denver Metro

Goldstone Partners, Inc.Denver, CO
$170,000 - $185,000Hybrid

About The Position

As our Director of Cloud Operations & IT, you'll own everything from end-user IT to cloud infrastructure to security compliance — leading a small team, mentoring junior staff, and serving as the primary bridge between technical operations and executive leadership. You have 8+ years of infrastructure and DevOps experience and are comfortable working alongside engineers as a partner, not a gatekeeper - you know how to earn their trust by making their lives easier. Your startup DNA means you're ready to build and do simultaneously, establishing the foundation that supports a growing company serving demanding enterprise customers in the world's most regulated industries. This is meaningful, complex work at the intersection of AI and legacy systems — if you thrive where the problems are real, the resources are finite, and the wins are earned, let's talk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years in infrastructure or DevOps, including 3+ years in a senior or leadership role
  • Proven experience in a small company or startup where you wore multiple hats and built things from scratch
  • Hands-on Azure expertise across architecture, security configuration, and cost management
  • Experience leading or meaningfully contributing to a SOC 2 Type I or II certification
  • Awareness of DevOps best practices and security considerations for enterprise financial services customers
  • Cloud infrastructure fluency - Azure required; AWS or GCP experience transferable
  • Infrastructure as Code experience - Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, or equivalent
  • CI/CD platform experience - GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with compliance automation platforms - Vanta, Drata, Tugboat Logic, or equivalent
  • A mentorship mindset - you invest in your team's growth and take satisfaction in watching them level up
  • Capacity to translate risk and operational status into plain language for non-technical executives
  • Ability to think critically, justify decisions, and guide change with respect

Responsibilities

  • Owning the Azure environment - architecture, security configuration, cost management, and ongoing optimization
  • Setting CI/CD pipeline standards and driving build time improvements to under 20 minutes
  • Managing environments across dev, staging, and production, including co-location infrastructure
  • Owning technical controls for the SOC 2 Type II program, collaborating with the compliance PM, and leveraging Vanta
  • Developing and enforcing security policy, managing vulnerability response, patching, and incident handling
  • Managing device lifecycle, identity, and access Entra ID, SSO, MFA and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Directly managing and mentoring two staff members, overseeing knowledge transfer from an existing contractor, and delivering regular operational updates to the executive team

Benefits

  • Base salary: $170,000-$185,000 plus an impressive benefits package
  • The opportunity to put your name on revolutionary, patent-pending AI technology
  • A collaborative, intellectually curious team tackling deeply complex problems
  • The chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact on the future of software development
