The Director of Clinical Services / Director of Nursing is a registered nurse (RN) who ensures the quality of patient care in the home. The primary function is for the overall administration of the clinical departments and monitoring of appropriate staffing and productivity. The DCS / DON coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, patient/family and referring agency. This role directs and coordinates clinical departments and branches, assuming responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations (Conditions of Participation). The Director participates in activities relevant to professional services, including development of qualifications and assignment of agency personnel. They supervise and provide direction to subordinates, monitor the QAPI Program, promote compliance with fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, monitor systems and identify problem areas to the Administrator, meet mandatory continuing education requirements, and promote infection control and universal precautions.
