About The Position

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Director of Clinical and Social Services (DCSS) to create, direct, and implement policies and procedures for the Clinical/Social Services Department. This role ensures a high level of quality care and services for patients by coordinating and communicating operational procedures to staff and various departments. The DCSS will monitor, evaluate, and modify programs while adhering to company guidelines and standards. This position directs and manages the day-to-day operations for the Clinical Services department and staff, overseeing case management and psychotherapeutic services to all patients and their families. The DCSS will serve as a member of the inter-disciplinary team, supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy, and ensuring the delivery of quality treatment. Additionally, the DCSS will provide supervision of licensure hours to associate-level therapists. The DCSS must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related field (MSW, MFT)
Minimum of 3 years of similar experience, with at least 1 year in a behavioral or psychiatric setting
Current CA License as LCSW
Current CPR certification or obtain certification prior to start date
Completion of 'Handle-With-Care' Physical Restraint Technique and Verbal De-escalation Training during orientation
Exceptional Leadership skills
Experience in inpatient and outpatient social services
A clear understanding of case management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice
Knowledge of acute psychological disorders; advanced principles of abnormal psychology as specifically applied to adults and adolescents
Familiarity with follow-up resource services
Skills in conducting marital and family group therapy
Experience navigating complex work schedules in a 24/7 environment of care
Experience leading a team of direct reports of 10 or more employees

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment where attention was focused on human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental healthcare situations
Specific experience as a Director of Clinical or Social Services
Licensed LCSW preferred (LMFT with Master's also sufficient)
