About The Position

George Fox University announces a Director of Clinical Practice position in College of Education. This full-time position will involve overseeing the critical work of supporting teacher and administrative licensure candidates as they navigate their training into the profession. This individual, who should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to fostering the growth of future educators, will lead a small but impactful team while simultaneously interfacing with school districts, faculty, staff, and community members to support the continuous improvement of the learning ecosystem. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience as a classroom teacher and/or building administrator.
  • A current Oregon Teacher or Administrator License.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Ability to learn new programs/applications.
  • Ability to manage several different tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Service oriented approach, with a focus on support and mentorship.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Directing Clinical Placement Operations.
  • Providing Leadership to the Clinical Practice Office.
  • Managing University Supervisors to support candidates in the filed.
  • Fostering District & School Partnerships.
  • Ensuring Compliance, Licensure & Accreditation responsibilities.
  • Supporting Candidates in their Placements.
  • Managing appropriate Systems & Technology.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
