About The Position

Innovative Healthcare- Metabolic Department is a specialty diabetes practice that handles complex cases, including implantable continuous glucose monitoring, IV infusion therapy, insulin pump management, and chronic care for diabetic patients. The practice is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking to build a robust operational backbone to support this expansion without compromising quality. The Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinical operations within the center, including provider productivity, program compliance, clinical staff management, supply chain, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role requires a hands-on approach to setting standards, measuring performance, and actively addressing any operational gaps.

Requirements

  • Clinical license in good standing (RN, LPN or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience managing clinical staff in an outpatient, ambulatory, or specialty practice setting.
  • Demonstrated ownership of provider productivity or clinical performance metrics.
  • Working knowledge of payer coverage criteria, medical necessity documentation, and prior authorization.
  • Comfort with data analysis, including the ability to interpret productivity and utilization reports.

  • Experience with RPM/CCM services.
  • Background in a high-growth or multi-site healthcare organization.
  • History of building SOPs and onboarding programs from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Establish visit and procedure benchmarks for all clinical providers and monitor performance data weekly to identify and address outliers.
  • Manage end-to-end operations for the implantable CGM program, including scheduling, sensor inventory, manufacturer coordination, and procedure day flow.
  • Track CGM utilization and ensure alignment with payer coverage criteria and clinical protocols.
  • Oversee documentation for medical necessity, prior authorization support, and chart completeness before claims submission.
  • Develop and manage the Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) program, tracking enrollment, active patients, revenue, and utilization.
  • Manage device vendors, inventory, connectivity, and patient onboarding for RPM/CCM.
  • Address patient churn in the RPM/CCM program by identifying and resolving gaps in enrollment or engagement.
  • Manage infusion suite operations, including scheduling, chair utilization, nursing coverage, and drug/supply management.
  • Oversee pump refill and maintenance workflows and associated documentation, ensuring compliance with payer scrutiny.
  • Directly supervise clinical support staff (NPs, RNs, MAs), including scheduling, competency verification, and daily accountability.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new clinical providers and staff, covering orientation, workflow training, productivity expectations, and competency sign-off.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for referring partners (endocrinology, primary care, podiatry, hospitals) and manage referral intake flow.
  • Identify and develop new referral relationships.
  • Manage supply chain for infusion supplies and clinical inventory, including par levels, ordering, and waste.
  • Build and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clinical workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards and payer guidelines across all service lines.
  • Partner with billing and credentialing teams on documentation quality, denials, and provider enrollment.
