About The Position

The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for the operational leadership and execution of PPSWO’s healthcare operations strategy across all family planning and ambulatory surgical facility (ASF) locations. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that advances the affiliate’s mission of health equity while maintaining efficient, compliant, and responsive clinical operations. The Director oversees Health Center Managers and is responsible for driving excellence in service delivery, implementation of quality improvement initiatives, patient experience, operational performance, and clinical outcomes. The Director collaborates with leaders throughout the organization to implement strategic initiatives, standardize best practices, strengthen revenue cycle performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable growth. Through strong leadership and staff development, the Director fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, health administration, public health, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience managing operations within an Ambulatory Surgical Facility (ASF) or Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC).
• Experience in reproductive health or related healthcare setting with responsibility for program implementation, operations, staff supervision, and budget management.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing staff.
• Demonstrated ability to be responsive to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple complex initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Able to travel Regularly between PPSWO health centers and other meeting locations.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance.
• History of defining problems, collecting data and information, analyzing problems and developing solutions.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and healthcare performance reporting.

Nice To Haves

• Five to ten years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including multi-site management.
• Master’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline, business administration, public health, or a related field.
• Bi-lingual.
• Relevant work experience in non-profit.
• Demonstrated commitment to health equity and understanding of the impact of racial inequities on healthcare access, outcomes, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational leadership for all PPSWO’s health centers through direct supervision of Health Center Managers.
• Assist in the development, management and monitoring of departmental and site budgets.
• Collaborate with Patient Services leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that support clinical growth, operational excellence, and service expansion.
• Ensure consistent implementation of operational processes, workflows, policies, and standards across all locations.
• Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators, including productivity, access to care, patient flow, revenue cycle support, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction, and implement corrective measures when needed.
• Identify operational challenges and work with Patient Services leadership to implement solutions that improve efficiency, patient experience, and financial performance.
• Collaborate with Development and Finance teams to support grant reporting, program evaluation, and stakeholder communications.
• Support organizational initiatives that expand patient access and strengthen service delivery.
• The Director is accountable for achieving operational performance goals related to access, productivity, patient experience, workforce effectiveness, and implementation of affiliate healthcare initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, and applicable healthcare guidelines.
• Promote a patient focused culture that maximizes access, minimizes wait times, ensures efficient patient flow, and meets productivity and patient volume goals.
• Lead monthly Health Center Manager meetings, including agenda development, communication of organizational priorities, training coordination, and dissemination of key operational information.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Maintains, creates, and archives Patient Services forms in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Work closely with operations and administration staff to oversee the efficient and effective implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices
• Participate as an active member of the Patient Services Administrative team and other organizational committees as assigned.
• Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate Health Center Managers and other direct reports.
• Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure corrective action processes are implemented when necessary.
• Support Health Center Managers to ensure the centers are properly staffed, and staff are effectively hired, oriented, trained, coached, and evaluated.
• Support workforce planning, staff retention, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.
• Delegate Responsibilities appropriately while ensuring accountability for desired outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, state licensing standards, and payer requirements.
• Supports regulatory audits, site inspections, accreditation activities, and implementation of corrective action plans in partnership with Quality, Risk, and Compliance.
• Implements operational controls and corrective actions designed to reduce identified risks
