About The Position

Haven Hospice is seeking a passionate, dedicated Director of Clinical Operations to join their team in Orange Park, FL. This role is ideal for a compassionate, strategic leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality end-of-life care while driving clinical excellence and operational success. The Director of Clinical Operations will oversee all patient care services provided by the hospice team, support and advise nursing supervisors, assist with patient care planning and evaluation, and help prepare and manage the hospice’s budget. This role also involves monitoring patient volume to adjust staffing and resources, evaluating the performance of nursing supervisors and their teams, and hiring, evaluating, and terminating staff. Additionally, the Director will conduct regular performance reviews, ensure patient records are accurate and meet legal requirements, manage supplies and equipment, and develop and oversee training programs for new and existing staff. The position requires monitoring and improving the quality and safety of hospice services, setting organizational goals and policies, ensuring compliance with laws and certification standards, and staying updated on changes in hospice care. The role also includes promoting hospice services within the healthcare community and serving as acting Executive Director when the main director is unavailable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing.
  • Three years of management experience in a hospice or related health care organization
  • Registered nurse in the State with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Has excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of business management, governmental regulations and CHAP standards.

  • Master’s degree in hospice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all patient care services provided by the hospice team.

  • Serves as acting Executive Director when the main director is unavailable.
