About The Position

ATS Institute of Technology is seeking a Director of Clinical Education, Nursing Programs to lead the quality, coordination, and oversight of clinical education across its nursing programs. This role focuses on developing and maintaining a strong network of clinical affiliates, cultivating new healthcare partnerships, strengthening existing relationships, evaluating clinical sites, and supporting affiliation agreements. It is an academic nursing leadership position that combines clinical partnership development, faculty leadership, clinical operations, student oversight, and quality assurance. The Director will regularly visit clinical sites and work closely with nursing faculty, students, academic leadership, and healthcare partners. The Director will maintain clinical affiliates, identify new clinical opportunities, support and evaluate clinical faculty, oversee student clinical experiences, and ensure clinical education is consistent with curriculum, institutional standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation expectations.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • At least three years of formal nursing education experience, including clinical instruction in Higher education or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of nursing clinical education, student evaluation, patient safety, and professional standards.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with healthcare organizations and clinical partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, faculty and student concerns, clinical partnerships, and required documentation.
  • Ability to regularly travel to clinical sites and work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clinical affiliate partnerships, including identifying and cultivating new clinical sites and opportunities.
  • Serve as a primary academic liaison to clinical partners and oversee site relationships, evaluations, and affiliation agreements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for clinical education across ATS nursing programs.
  • Recruit, orient, mentor, observe, and evaluate clinical faculty.
  • Conduct regular clinical site visits to evaluate faculty performance, student learning, site quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Monitor student clinical performance, attendance, professionalism, and progression, and coordinate early intervention or remediation when needed.
  • Ensure clinical experiences align with approved curriculum, learning objectives, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready clinical documentation and lead continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Lead implementation of ATS’s Clinical Judgment Model and promote consistent clinical teaching and evaluation standards.
