Founded in 1996, RQC, LLC is a full-service Design-Build firm headquartered in Carlsbad, California, specializing in accelerated, ground-up commercial construction with a primary emphasis on Department of Defense work. We deliver projects from $30 million to over $100 million across the United States and U.S. territories, including California, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay. We are currently seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to lead our Civil Engineering Department in Jacksonville, Florida. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates outside the area. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding the overall direction, performance, and growth of the civil engineering team while ensuring the successful execution of Department of Defense projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with military design standards, site development, interdisciplinary coordination, and team leadership. This position plays a key role in advancing the firm's engineering capabilities while supporting the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values. At RQ, our people are our greatest asset. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • At least 15 years of experience in civil/site design
  • Experience using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, InfoDrainage, or equivalent platforms
  • Understanding of federal project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) in compliance with FAR requirements
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and permitting processes
  • All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
