Director of Civil Engineering
About The Position
Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Director of Civil Engineering for their Orlando team! This role involves developing and implementing business strategies, building client relationships, assisting with business development, recruiting and mentoring staff, and collaborating with company leaders. The Director will also be responsible for managing the financial metrics of the group, ensuring profitability, and overseeing project managers to achieve project and financial success. Contract negotiation and ensuring high-quality design standards are also key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering
- PE License
- 12+ years of Civil design experience
- Broad civil engineering expertise
- Understanding of basic FLA permitting requirements
- Experience with municipal and other public projects preferred
- Experience managing staff/clients
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Develop, initiate and implement a business plan/strategy building
- Build/maintain client relationships
- Assist with business development opportunities
- Recruit/retain high performing team members
- Mentor/train junior staff
- Interact and collaborate with other Directors and company leaders across Florida and corporate wide
- Develop, manage and achieve financial metrics of the group, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth
- Monitor/direct project managers to achieve project and financial success overall projects within the group
- Negotiate contracts, fees, and terms with clients and other partners
- Ensure company high quality design standards are met
