About The Position

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central (BGCCO) is to enable young people to reach their full potential. Our vision is for all young people regardless of their zip code or circumstances to have the opportunity to achieve a great future. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio. The Director of Career & Workforce Readiness leads the design and coordination of BGCCO’s teen workforce strategy, ensuring young people have the knowledge, skills, experiences, and exposure needed to pursue success in work, school, and life. This role builds and manages key partnerships, creates consistent high-quality programming across sites, and aligns activities with the organization’s Life & Workforce Readiness (LWR) Action Plan and Teen Action Plan. This is a strategic, partnership-driven position with no direct supervisory responsibilities. The role works collaboratively with Regional, Club, and Site Directors and community partners to deliver a consistent, high-quality teen experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in youth development, education, career pathways, workforce development, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, partnerships, or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to organize complex projects, manage time effectively, and follow through with consistency.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to Club sites and partner locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high school-aged youth.
  • Familiarity with BGCA programs and frameworks (e.g., CareerLaunch, Money Matters, Workforce Development Framework).
  • Knowledge of local workforce trends, employer needs, and postsecondary opportunities.
  • Experience collaborating with schools, colleges, or community-based organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, colleges, universities, and community organizations.
  • Expand opportunities for career exposure in priority pathways such as STEM, trades, healthcare, business, finance, creative industries, and public service.
  • Coordinate partner-led workshops, job tours, job visits, and skill-building sessions for teens.
  • Maintain updated partnership inventories and ensure alignment with teen interests and regional labor market needs.
  • Develop and coordinate annual calendars for workforce and career readiness experiences, including Opportunity Fair, Pique Week, job tours, and financial literacy experiences.
  • Support delivery of essential employability and life skills workshops using BGCA resources such as CareerLaunch, Money Matters, and the Workforce Development Framework.
  • Facilitate youth voice and co-design sessions to ensure programming reflects teen interests, feedback, and evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with the Club staff to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all sites.
  • Partner with Site Directors and Success Coaches to strengthen teen recruitment, attendance, and retention in workforce-related programming.
  • Support implementation of teen leadership initiatives, including Keystone, Torch Club, and youth-led service projects.
  • Promote a vibrant, inclusive teen experience with a focus on belonging, skill-building, and leadership development.
  • Provide tools, templates, and best practices to help Clubs implement high-quality experiences consistently.
  • Track teen participation, partnership engagement, and program activities using approved BGCCO tracking systems (MyFuture, MyClubHub, internal dashboards, etc.).
  • Gather and analyze input from youth surveys, interest assessments, and pulse checks to inform programming decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Grants and Data teams to provide accurate information for storytelling, reports, and compliance.
  • Develop impact summaries and success stories to highlight outcomes to funders, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Represent BGCCO in local and regional workforce coalitions, career readiness councils, and BGCA professional networks.
  • Model organizational values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence in all partnerships and interactions.
  • Contribute to organization-wide strategic initiatives, planning processes, and cross-functional alignment related to teen and workforce programming.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and system-building within BGCCO’s teen experience.
