Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement best practices for career development, employer outreach, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Design and deliver innovative programs, resources, and advising that actively engage students in career planning and job search strategies.
  • Lead, train, and supervise team of career services professionals to provide exceptional student support.
  • Cultivate relationships with alumni, employers, government agencies, and other organizations to expand internship and employment opportunities.
  • Work closely with school leadership, faculty, and counterparts across Tufts and peer institutions to align career services with academic and industry trends.
  • Manage budgets, facilities, technology planning, and long-term strategic initiatives in partnership with school leadership.
  • Serve as the School's ambassador at university-wide and external events to promote career services and student success.
  • Creates overall program strategy and marketing plan for career services.
  • Manages design and participates in the delivery and evaluation of programs, workshops and networking events on career exploration and development with staff.
  • Plays leadership role in educating university leadership and constituents on industry trends, employer culture and hiring processes.
  • Cultivates relationships and collaborates with faculty, university administrators, alumni and industry employers to provide targeted programming and messaging to students.
  • Attends and presents information at regional and national conferences to network with potential employers and increase awareness of Tufts brand.
  • Conducts individual career advising appointments (in-person and virtual) with in-person and online students and alumni.
  • Oversight of individual career advising of the professional career services staff.
  • Oversees strategy to initiate corporate outreach and maintain relationships to increase internship and employment opportunities.
  • Promotes Tufts graduates and represents the university to industry employers and other external constituents.
  • Oversees management of website and career services print collateral and marketing materials.
  • Manages production of web-based career services and events; evaluates use of new technology in the delivery of services to constituents.
  • Manages information technology systems and databases to support career services and programs.
  • Hires, trains and manages career services staff; evaluates employees and oversees professional development opportunities.
  • Manages development and monitoring of career services budget; conducts long term financial planning and analysis; oversees major/capital expenditures and provides reports to management.
  • Manages space and facilities planning for career services.
