About The Position

The Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides strategic leadership, oversight, and development of OIC’s Career Technical Education and workforce training programs. This role is responsible for building strong industry partnerships, strengthening instructional programming, and ensuring alignment between training initiatives and regional workforce needs. The Director will lead efforts to expand high-quality CTE pathways, improve program outcomes, and support participants in gaining industry-recognized skills and certifications that lead to sustainable employment. This position works collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders to advance OIC’s mission of workforce development, economic mobility, and career readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Workforce Development, Human Services, Business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in career and technical education, workforce development, training, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in program development and/or instructional oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of CTE frameworks, workforce systems, and employer engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs, initiatives, and stakeholder relationships effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for all Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with employers, industry leaders, educational institutions, workforce boards, and community organizations.
  • Ensure CTE programs align with regional labor market demands and industry standards.
  • Oversee instructional programming, including curriculum development, training delivery models, and program evaluation.
  • Support the design and implementation of career pathways that lead to industry-recognized credentials and employment opportunities.
  • Represent OIC at meetings, conferences, workforce councils, and community events to promote CTE initiatives and strengthen partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to develop and execute strategic workforce development initiatives.
  • Monitor program performance metrics, including enrollment, completion rates, credential attainment, and job placement outcomes.
  • Identify funding opportunities and support grant development efforts related to workforce training and CTE expansion.
  • Provide guidance on best practices, compliance requirements, and instructional quality standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
