Career & Technical Education (CTE) Manager
About The Position
Provides academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curriculum and promotes student achievement. This role is responsible for the direct supervision of all Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs and staff, as well as providing staff training to comply with expected outcomes and quality indicators prescribed in the PRH. The manager supervises the delivery of student orientation in the functional areas, develops and prepares lesson plans, and administers and corrects tests. They identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs, and recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials. The position involves motivating and counseling students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits, and coordinating with independent living advisors, counselors, and other staff to resolve issues affecting student training. Daily attendance is recorded and forwarded to Student Records, and student personnel folders are maintained. The manager models appropriate behaviors, mentors students, and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. Requirements
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
- High energy level and ability to engage students
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field
- Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies
- Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material
- Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
