About The Position

Perry Weather is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a Director of Business Operations to manage and scale operational systems and processes. This role is crucial for maintaining execution quality as the company expands. The Director will report to the COO and focus on high-leverage problems, including operational systems, cross-functional projects, and departmental transformations. This is a hands-on builder/operator role with significant executive visibility and direct impact on the company's future growth. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems before they become critical issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience
  • At least 5 years in management consulting focused on technology implementations, operations, or transformation work.
  • Experience as an operator at a high-growth company that was actively scaling.
  • Proven track record of building and implementing systems, configuring data, running migrations, writing SOPs, and managing vendors.
  • Ability to own problems end to end, staying with them until they are resolved and no longer require direct involvement.
  • Capacity to earn credibility quickly and gain trust within teams.
  • Self-directed with the ability to manage one's own agenda and prioritize tasks.
  • Systems thinking approach, focusing on root causes.
  • Ability to work at different altitudes, from leadership discussions to detailed workflow analysis.
  • Fluency in data, comfortable with Excel, building BI reports, and identifying relevant metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with AI, including building and improving workflows.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and communication skills, including concise writing and asking the right questions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the internal side of major systems implementations end to end, from requirements through adoption (e.g., Acumatica, Zendesk, Aircall, field and hardware tooling).
  • Manage the ERP implementation mid-workstream, ensuring organizational alignment and a successful launch, while a consulting firm handles the technical build.
  • Ensure systems communicate with each other and partner with RevOps on the go-to-market stack and Product/Engineering on platform-related matters.
  • Build and own the operational metrics layer across the business, defining what is measured, where it lives, who sees it, and its impact on decision-making.
  • Present operational data and insights to the executive team with a clear point of view.
  • Drive consequential cross-functional special projects to resolution, such as company-wide AI adoption, improving customer self-installs, reducing support ticket volume, and international expansion.
  • Proactively identify areas where communication is unclear, decision-making is slow, or teams are outgrowing their current work methods.
  • Partner with leaders across various departments (engineering, product, hardware manufacturing, field services, customer support, meteorology, go-to-market) to drive changes they cannot accomplish alone.
  • Identify and fix friction points in current processes and workflows that waste resources or negatively impact customer experience.
  • Build an intake and prioritization process to ensure focus on the highest-leverage work.
  • Utilize AI to multiply personal and team effectiveness, building and running operational workflows.
  • Maintain a forward-looking perspective, planning 18 months ahead to ensure excellent execution.
  • Ensure the team is working effectively together in the office.
