About The Position

The Director of Business Operations & Technology serves as the central operating layer, ensuring that all functions have the tools, processes, and technology to operate as a coordinated system. This role is responsible for designing and owning the operating systems, data architecture, and governance frameworks that allow Momofuku to make better decisions faster. Reporting to the CFO, this role translates leadership’s strategic priorities into clear processes, accountability structures, and operational rhythms that keep the business running and improving. This role operates as a true enterprise resource, serving the full leadership team by ensuring that Commercial, Finance, and Operations have seamless, integrated data flow and shared visibility that enables confident decision-making across the business. Momofuku Goods is scaling fast – across retail, eCommerce, DTC, and internationally. The infrastructure that supports how we plan, measure, and operate needs to evolve at the same pace. This role exists to build that infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, enterprise data, strategy & operations, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement cross-functional processes in a multi-entity or multi-unit business
  • Strong data architecture instincts – experience building or overseeing data integration, governance frameworks, and BI reporting infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation platforms - implemented and adopted, not just evaluated
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, demand planning platforms (e.g. Confido, NetSuite), project management tools (Asana), and BI platforms (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience partnering with Commercial and Finance teams, with a clear understanding of how demand forecasts translate into revenue, margin, and financial plans
  • Strong project management skills – comfortable owning complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Highly analytical with strong financial literacy; able to build models, interpret data, and translate findings into recommendations
  • Systems thinker who can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to fix the details
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, lean environment with limited precedent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in CPG, consumer goods, or DTC organizations navigating rapid commercial scale
  • Demonstrated experience designing or significantly improving planning processes (S&OP, IBP, or equivalent) in a multi-channel commercial environment
  • Background in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy
  • Experience working directly with C-suite leadership and translating strategic direction into operational plans
  • Prior experience building an operations or data function from scratch or in its early stages

Responsibilities

  • Audit existing workflows and internal processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas of unnecessary complexity
  • Design, document, and implement scalable SOPs across functions
  • Establish and facilitate operating rhythms – weekly standups, monthly business reviews, quarterly planning cycles – ensuring cadences are purposeful, well-sequenced, and consistently executed
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable workstreams with clear owners, milestones, and timelines; manage key initiatives from kickoff through completion
  • Build accountability structures that create transparency across teams without adding unnecessary overhead
  • Track and report on organizational KPIs
  • Ensure company priorities and objectives are clearly communicated across the organization and projects are resourced and executed in a timely fashion
  • Champion the use of AI and modern technology as a competitive advantage across all corporate functions
  • Evaluate and recommend internal tools, AI solutions, and automation platforms that improve visibility, accountability, and speed
  • Identify repetitive, manual processes and design and implement automation solutions that increase the quality and efficiency of the team’s work
  • Stay current on emerging AI tools, platforms, and workflows – and proactively bring recommendations to leadership on where to deploy them
  • Partner with technology and data teams to build AI-assisted reporting, forecasting, and decision-support systems
  • Drive adoption of new tools across teams – ensuring technology investments translate into real productivity and performance gains
  • Design and own the enterprise data integration roadmap – connecting source systems across Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Marketing into a unified, reliable data layer
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards across critical data sets: product masters, customer masters, pricing hierarchies, channel definitions, and SKU architecture
  • Eliminate data fragmentation across functions, drive toward a single version of the truth for reporting and decision making
  • Define data ownership and stewardship protocols so accountability is clear and data quality improves continuously over time
  • Build and maintain the integration architecture connecting ERP, CRM, BI platforms, and other core systems into a coherent, accessible enterprise data layer
  • Design and deliver Momofuku’s enterprise reporting infrastructure – harmonizing inputs from Commercial, Operations, and Finance into a consistent, reliable reporting layer
  • Build and maintain executive-ready dashboards that give the leadership team real-time visibility into demand, sell through, inventory, revenue performance, and operational health
  • Prepare and support materials for C-suite leadership meetings, board reviews, and strategic planning sessions, translating complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives
  • Partner with the Insights team to ensure BI infrastructure supports commercial storytelling and customer-facing analytics
  • Design and implement an Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework that connects demand signals, supply constraints, financial targets, and commercial plans into a unified planning rhythm
  • Own the architecture of the planning process – defining inputs, cadence, participants, and accountability structures in close partnership with the Finance, Commercial, and Operations leadership
  • Establish forecast accuracy standards and build the feedback loops that drive continuous improvement in planning quality across functions
  • Ensure the IBP process serves Commercial, Finance, and Operations equally, grounding financial and operational planning in real demand signals
  • Work toward a future state where IBP runs on live, connected data, reducing manual inputs and enabling scenario planning at the speed the business requires
