About The Position

Accelerate firm growth through strategic marketing, client development, and cross-practice initiatives. Duane Morris, an international AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead integrated marketing and business development initiatives across its practices and offices, and drive firmwide revenue growth and brand advancement. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who partners with firm leadership to translate strategy into action, strengthen client engagement, generate new business, and ensure consistent execution across the firm.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development, marketing or other professional services settings.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Exhibit a track record of driving impactful business development in a law firm environment, supported by strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to translate complex capabilities into compelling, client-focused initiatives that drive growth.
• Proven ability to manage and develop large, high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and business development team of 15, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
• Identify and pursue high-value opportunities, driving client expansion, cross-selling, and sustaining revenue growth.
• Partner with firm leaders, partners, and attorneys to strengthen business development planning, client relationship development, and pursuit strategy.
• Lead and align regional office marketing efforts with firmwide and practice-specific business development priorities, ensuring consistent execution of strategic initiatives across the firm.
• Oversee directories and awards strategy, including submissions, rankings analysis, and profile-raising plans for practices and individual lawyers as well as direct marketing research and competitive intelligence to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
