About The Position

Meadow is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and scale its outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth by building a world-class pipeline generation engine. The Director will focus on enhancing team productivity through data-driven coaching, refining existing practices, and implementing necessary systems and processes. The goal is to increase quotas by improving per-SDR productivity rather than solely by increasing team size. This position offers the opportunity to build a high-performance culture and directly contribute to Meadow's success in the higher education payments industry.

Requirements

  • Led 5-10 BDRs at a startup.
  • Track record of success measurably improving per-SDR productivity metrics (e.g., # Meetings Booked, Conversion Rates).
  • Analytical approach with informed opinions based on experience.
  • Track record of success coaching and developing SDRs, helping them perform at a higher level through feedback and mentorship.
  • Data-first operator who has built, maintained, and iterated on dashboards and systems that informed high-quality decision-making.
  • Practical AI adopter who uses AI to increase BDR effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the outbound Business Development Team (currently 10 BDRs).
  • Provide significant hands-on coaching, including daily call reviews, 1:1s, role plays, and objection handling.
  • Build a high-performance culture with clear expectations and accountability.
  • Own outbound playbooks, including segmentation, ICP targeting, outreach strategy, talk tracks, qualification, handoffs, and follow-up loops.
  • Establish operating rhythms such as campaign reviews and enablement sessions.
  • Partner with Marketing to translate campaigns into meetings and with Account Executives (AEs) to ensure tight conversion and feedback loops.
  • Define and manage Key Performance Indicator (KPI) systems from activity to closed-won contribution.
  • Build dashboards and reporting in HubSpot to identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
  • Forecast pipeline generation and capacity needs, including territory/segment planning and quota modeling.
  • Drive adoption of modern tooling and workflows such as sequencing, call intelligence, enrichment, scoring, and QA.
  • Pilot AI-enabled strategies like intelligent lead scoring, personalization at scale, and call coaching workflows.
  • Continuously test and iterate on messaging, channels, sequences, and enablement content, then standardize successful approaches.
