About The Position

The Director of Business Development and Technology Transfer is responsible for leading strategic initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency, and growth within a cGMP cosmetics manufacturing facility. This role oversees the Technical Transfer department, ensuring the smooth, complaint, and timely introduction of new products and processes from development to commercial production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership, with at least 5 years in a cGMP-regulated cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in technical transfer, introduction of new product, and continuous improvement leadership.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Technical Transfer department to ensure efficient, compliant, and on-time execution of product launches, scale-ups, and technology transfers in accordance with cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategic business improvement initiatives that support operational efficiency, cost savings, quality enhancement, and innovation.
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify and deliver new business opportunities, including new product introductions, process changes, and customer-specific projects.
  • Ensure robust risk assessments, change control processes, and regulatory compliance for all new product and process introductions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on continuous improvement, lean methodologies, and technical transfer best practices to cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee operational forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation for new projects.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and regulatory agencies to support successful business growth and operational excellence.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on project performance, improvement initiatives, and business metrics.
  • Serve as a visible leader, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development for direct reports and cross-functional teams.
