About The Position

The VP, Director of Business Analytics, is a senior leadership role within the Finance organization, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This position owns analytics, dashboarding, and reporting for Finance: building the KPI definitions, financial dashboards, and standardized reports that give the CFO and Finance leadership the numbers they need when they need them. The role requires a leader who can build and lead a small analytics team, translate financial and operational data into clear reporting and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and support the CFO with financial modeling and scenario analysis for key decisions. This individual will also represent Finance's reporting and data needs when partnering with IT on systems projects and will leverage AI-enabled tools to speed up report and dashboard development. This is a hands-on leadership role: equal parts building the reporting and analytics Finance runs on and leading the team that maintains it.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in a quantitative, business, or technical field; advanced degree preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in data analytics or business intelligence, including at least 3-5 years in a senior management or director-level role, preferably within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
Demonstrated track record building and scaling financial analytics, dashboarding, and reporting functions, including KPI frameworks and governed reporting standards.
Proven experience building and leading analytics teams, with strong leadership and organizational development skills.
Strong leadership presence, consistently sound judgment, and excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise the CFO and senior leadership with confidence, credibility, and professionalism.
Experience representing Finance's reporting and analytics needs through major ERP implementations or modernizations (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP), in partnership with IT.
Proficiency with modern data and BI technologies (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, cloud data warehousing) and comfort leveraging AI tools to accelerate analytics work.

Responsibilities

Act as the voice of Finance in partnership with IT and Data teams, ensuring Finance's reporting, dashboarding, and KPI needs are represented in systems decisions, and that analytics and reporting practices align with data governance, risk, and compliance standards.
Define and maintain KPI definitions and standardized financial reporting for Finance, ensuring consistent, trustworthy metrics that Finance leadership and the CFO can rely on.
Build and maintain the dashboards and self-service reporting (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) Finance and the CFO rely on, built on rigorously governed semantic models for accurate, real-time visibility into performance.
Support the CFO with financial and pro forma modeling, scenario analysis, and post-implementation ROI validation for key investment and business decisions.
Represent Finance's reporting and analytics needs on major ERP and systems modernization initiatives, partnering with IT on a successful, Finance-ready deployment.
Build, lead, and mentor Finance's analytics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and alignment with Finance's priorities.
Champion the adoption of AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) within Finance's analytics work to accelerate report and dashboard development, improve documentation, and strengthen consistency.
Prepare and present financial analytics findings and KPI performance to the CFO and Finance leadership, translating complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives.
