The Director of Budget and Finance serves as the City of Taylor’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the overall direction, administration, and integrity of the city’s financial operation. This position plans, organizes and directs all activities of the Budget and Finance Department. This includes the following: budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable, procurement compliance, annual financial audit preparation and asset management. The Director of Budget and Finance serves as the principal advisor to the Mayor and City Council on fiscal policy, financial condition and regulatory compliance. This position will also ensure the financial practices comply with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, Michigan municipal finance law and applicable federal and state regulations.
