The Director of Asset Management works under the direction of the Director of Strategic Operations and provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the agency's Asset Management Office (AMO). This role oversees planning, coordination, and execution of asset management activities, including inventory, asset disposition, policy development, and reporting. The Director ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, State Property Accounting guidelines, comptroller requirements, and agency policies, and generally accepted accounting principles. The Director ensures that asset records are accurate, complete, timely, auditable, and aligned with financial reporting and operational needs. The Director oversees the Asset Management Office budget, monitors expenditures, evaluates financial and operational reports, identifies trends and risks, and recommends improvements to strengthen accountability, internal controls, cost effectiveness, and statewide consistency. The position supervises professional and managerial staff; and collaborates with internal divisions, external partners, and oversight entities to support agency goals. The position works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
