Director of Analytics

Grand Circle CorporationBoston, MA
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

Grand Circle Corporation is seeking a Director of Analytics to lead how customer, digital, and operational data is understood, measured, and acted upon across its travel brands. This role reports to the SVP, Strategic Analytics and will lead a team of analysts and a Data Collection Product Manager. The Director will shape strategy, turning data into insights that influence decisions in marketing, product, digital experience, and the Traveler Relations Center. This position is at the intersection of advanced analytics, customer intelligence, and business strategy, focusing on insight and impact rather than reporting production.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in analytics, digital/web analytics, or customer intelligence, with at least 3 years leading and developing teams.
  • Proven ability to lead an analytics function and communicate results and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Hands-on expertise across web and digital analytics — data layer, tag management, Adobe Data Collection, Adobe Analytics, and Google Analytics — with a strong grasp of attribution modeling.
  • Strong statistical foundation with experience in regression, classification, clustering, and time series analysis.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency (complex queries, window functions, and optimization); proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.
  • Experience using BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) to analyze data and surface insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a quantitative field.
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses and large-scale datasets (Snowflake, Oracle, or similar).
  • Understanding of the data layer, tag management, and event-collection concepts and how they feed downstream analytics.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL concepts, partnering with data engineering to ensure data quality and accessibility.
  • Knowledge of data governance, documentation, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services.
  • Experience with customer data platforms or marketing automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow).
  • A/B testing and experimental design expertise.
  • Familiarity with causal inference methodologies and experimentation techniques.
  • Prior experience in travel or hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analytics function — setting the vision, roadmap, and standards for how the organization uses data to answer its most important questions.
  • Analyze customer, web, marketing, and operational data to identify actionable insights and opportunities across the traveler journey.
  • Analyze performance and provide insights using dashboards and reporting that track customer journeys, marketing effectiveness, and Traveler Relations Center KPIs.
  • Co-own the strategy and governance for web and digital analytics with our Adobe Analytics Product Manager — including the data layer, tag management, and event collection across Adobe Data Collection, Adobe Analytics, and Google Analytics — ensuring accurate, trusted measurement.
  • Develop and enhance our marketing attribution strategy, defining marketing channels, rules, and methodology to give the business consistent visibility into channel contribution and ROI.
  • Tell data-driven stories that convince and influence leaders using clear insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with brand, marketing, product, and TRC teams to translate analytical findings into measurable business impact.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts and analytics product managers, building bench strength and championing analytical best practices.
  • Champion data democracy and self-service so business users can access the insights they need on demand and analysts can focus on higher-value analysis.
