About The Position

McCormick is seeking an immediate hire for a Director of Algorithm Operations in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at its Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This role provides strategic leadership, fosters innovation, and ensures ethical AI practices. The Director will drive the implementation of enterprise-focused AI and data science initiatives to achieve business objectives and maintain a competitive edge through the strategic application of advanced technologies. This position will also direct the timely construction of machine learning algorithm sets for Enterprise Forecasting design and oversee the data source and flow forecasting strategy within the Data, Analytics & Automation (DA&A) department.

Requirements

• Bachelors in Supply Chain, Finance or relevant field
• Leading global teams across different geographies serving to the whole enterprise
• Proficiency in Lean methodology and ability to drive results using Lean thinking and Process Improvement tools
• At least 8 years of relevant experience and progressive leadership roles
• Working with Regional Leadership teams in establishing scorecards, KPIs and Automation solutions
• Technical knowledge for Data environments, transformation, models and queries
• Strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide and influence

Responsibilities

• Identify potential areas of automation, lead a team of ~20 people and define a roadmap for implementation and deliver
• Develop a comprehensive strategy for ML Forecasting that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives
• Ensure the Algorithm team can provide availability and quality of forecasts required for business planning initiatives
• Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the performance and impact of data science solutions
• Partner with Process Improvement team on identifying solutions
• Implement and enforce ethical AI practices, ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability in cognitive automation processes
• Establish processes for continuous improvement of Data Science/Engin. models, incorporating feedback and adapting to changing business needs
• Partner with IT and provide needed capacity & capability for McCormick’s digital transformation
• Ad hoc participation in GBS Governance and Enterprise Digitalization governance as appropriate
