About The Position

The Director of Adult Day Care is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Adult Day Health Care program. This includes ensuring care plans are followed, supervising staff, marketing the program to referral agencies, and maintaining communication with the Administrator, registrant families, and caregivers. The role involves managing program expenses, coordinating paperwork for new registrants, maintaining census numbers, and performing quality assurance audits. Additionally, the Director is responsible for coordinating transportation, managing accident/incident reporting, and participating in relevant committees and organizations. The position requires adherence to ethical standards, corporate compliance, and confidentiality policies.

Requirements

  • Prior management experience in marketing, human services, social work, or health-related field.
  • Graduate of a minimum four-year accredited college or university.
  • Leadership ability and effective communication skills, demonstrated through work history.
  • Adherence to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a public relations liaison to the community and referral agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.
  • Act as an in-house coordinator for ancillary departments providing services.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the Adult Day Health Care program.
  • Ensure care plans are carried out as prescribed for each registrant.
  • Supervise program staff, including work scheduling, disciplinary intervention, and providing departmental in-services.
  • Actively market the program to community agencies to obtain referrals.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Administrator regarding program concerns.
  • Maintain a liaison role with registrant families/caregivers.
  • Complete and coordinate necessary paperwork and prior authorizations for new registrants.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly census numbers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of UAS’s.
  • Perform quarterly quality assurance audits on registrant reviews, including chart reviews and statistics on discharges, and present results to the Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Oversee department expenses, compare to budget, and complete budget requests for the following year.
  • Perform at-home interviewing of prospective applicants when needed.
  • Provide tours of the program area to prospective registrants and family members.
  • Maintain a current transportation schedule for registrants.
  • Provide weekly registrant attendance information to the Accounting Office.
  • Submit written attendance records to accounting at the end of the month.
  • Ensure completion of all accident/incident reporting and follow-up.
  • Participate in area and statewide Adult Day Health Care organizations.
  • Maintain attendance as a member of various committees (Leadership Management, Multidisciplinary Care Plan, Corporate Compliance, Gan Kavod Team Meetings, Safety, Quality Assurance, etc.).
  • Maintain a liaison role with Gan Kavod, Inc.
  • Update program brochure and marketing materials.
  • Coordinate public speaking engagements to promote the program.
  • Perform duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility’s corporate compliance plan and applicable governing laws.
  • Adhere to the facility’s confidentiality statement regarding protected health information (PHI).
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Administrator or designee.
