About The Position
A well-established skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on Long Island, New York, is hiring a Director of Admissions to lead census growth. The Director owns the admissions process and the facility’s first impression, building referral relationships and guiding families through admission decisions. The role partners with the Administrator and interdisciplinary teams to support census and payer mix goals.
Requirements
- Experience in admissions, marketing, or business development in a skilled nursing facility.
- Established relationships with hospital and community referral sources in the NYC metro area.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care admissions.
- Strong communication skills and a go-getter mindset.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the admissions process from referral through move-in.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, case managers, and community referral sources.
- Evaluate referrals promptly and coordinate clinical review with nursing and interdisciplinary teams.
- Drive census and payer mix goals in partnership with the Administrator.
- Guide families through admission decisions with clarity and confidence.
- Track referral sources, conversion rates, and admissions metrics.
- Work closely with nursing, social services, therapy, and business office teams.
