About The Position

P.F. Chang’s is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Accounting to support our VP, Controller and lead critical financial accounting and reporting functions. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements, while driving process improvements and supporting a high-performing accounting team. This is a highly visible role that partners across Finance, Investor Relations, and broader business teams, with exposure to executive leadership and key initiatives—including audit support and readiness for future growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA designation is required (active or inactive).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and team leadership
• Requires strong SEC reporting experience (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
• Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience leading month-end close in a complex, multi-entity environment
• Strong systems experience—Workday is preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive results
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and communicate effectively at all levels

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and audit schedules
• Serve as the primary accounting lead across key areas: general ledger, lease, labor, revenue, and corporate G&A
• Partner with external auditors and support quarterly and annual audit requirements
• Collaborate with Investor Relations on reporting deliverables (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
• Drive consistency in accounting processes, policies, and internal controls
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Financial Accountants
• Act as the Workday Finance SME—owning system processes, configurations, and enhancements
• Partner on the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency
