About The Position

Pax8 is hiring a Director of Accounting, Global Revenue and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) in the USA to lead world-class revenue and vendor COGS accounting for a high-growth, AI-enabled marketplace. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity at the heart of how Pax8 scales. You’ll own the accounting outcomes for global revenue and vendor COGS, strengthen reporting reliability, and modernise close and controls as our marketplace evolves. You’ll also help shape how accounting teams thrive alongside new technology — using automation and AI-enabled tools to increase speed, accuracy, and insight without losing the human judgement that great finance runs on.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership building, mentoring, and scaling accounting teams in a fast-moving environment
  • Extensive experience owning revenue recognition in a complex, high-volume setting, including deep knowledge of Accounting Standards Codification 606 (ASC 606)
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP with sound judgement around new commercial models, programs, and partnerships
  • Demonstrated close ownership including journal entry review, reconciliations, and insightful flux/variance storytelling for senior stakeholders
  • Track record of process improvement — automation mindset, control design capability, and strong documentation standards
  • Systems confidence with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms (NetSuite experience is a plus) and revenue management tooling
  • Clear, human communication — able to translate technical accounting into practical decisions for non-accounting partners
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance (or similar); CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Must hold valid right to work in USA

Responsibilities

  • Lead global revenue & vendor COGS accounting aligned to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), building a high-performing team that grows with the business

  • Modernise process and systems by driving automation, workflow improvements, and smart system enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Guide accounting decisions for new initiatives including vendor programs, partnerships, pricing changes, and evolving commercial models
  • Partner across the business (marketplace, vendor, billing, and finance teams) to improve revenue health, vendor performance insight, and operational clarity
  • Oversee incentives, rebates, and marketing programs to ensure accurate treatment, clean documentation, and consistent policy alignment
  • Support external audit readiness by providing clear documentation and strong explanations for revenue-related transactions and judgments
