About The Position

NorthStar Medical Management, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Director of Accounting & Financial Operations to serve as the senior leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness of the organization’s accounting and financial operations. This executive‑level role provides strategic and operational leadership across financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and accounting operations in support of physician practices, management services arrangements, and continued organizational growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and plays a critical role in delivering timely, accurate, and reliable financial information to support executive and Board‑level decision‑making. Responsibilities include oversight of monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial close; maintenance of GAAP‑compliant accounting policies and procedures; strengthening of internal controls; monitoring cash flow and liquidity; coordination with external auditors and tax advisors; and ensuring appropriate safeguarding of financial and patient‑related data in compliance with regulatory and HIPAA requirements. This Director role will provide hands‑on leadership to the accounting team, including supervision, coaching, performance management, and professional development, while driving continuous improvement in accounting processes across a multi‑entity healthcare environment. This role requires significant independent judgment and discretion and offers meaningful influence over financial operations, governance support, and organizational stability. Effective development of financial reporting and performance reporting is a priority. This position is well suited for a seasoned accounting leader seeking a senior, high‑impact role with executive visibility in a physician‑focused healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibility
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, medical group, or MSO accounting strongly preferred
  • CPA or equivalent professional credential preferred
  • Experience supporting multi‑entity or complex organizational structures
