About The Position

The Director Nursing 2 is responsible for 24-hour service provided on or by a department/patient care unit. This role directs staff in all aspects of patient care, including problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all patient outcomes. No more than 20% of the time will be spent off the unit; the remaining 80% will be spent on the unit, engaged with the staff in the provision of patient care. The Director interviews, hires, counsels, and disciplines personnel, and oversees the orientation of all staff assigned to these departments. This position is responsible for Service Excellence for patients, staff, and physicians. The role requires good leadership skills, including critical thinking, communication, team building, and decision-making skills. The Director administers and supervises the services of a department/unit to render patient care as related to the patient and holds self and staff accountable for the delivery of quality patient care.
