About The Position

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Director of Nursing Services to lead its new hybrid accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) learning site in El Paso. This role is responsible for the administrative oversight and daily operations of the site, ensuring strong student outcomes and program efficiencies. The Director will lead, support, and develop faculty and staff, manage academic event scheduling, monitor operational performance, and oversee faculty recruitment and professional development. A key aspect of the role involves developing and maintaining community clinical relationships and ensuring the learning site meets all accreditation and regulatory standards. The position also emphasizes promoting a Christ-centered worldview and fostering a strong sense of community among faculty, staff, and students.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years nursing practice
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Master’s degree or a doctoral degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a professional nursing education program
  • Leadership experience within a professional nursing education program
  • Unencumbered current licensure or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Texas
  • Must pass pre-employment background investigation

Nice To Haves

  • NLN certification as nurse educator (CNE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative oversight of the daily operations for the ABSN site.
  • Leads, implements, and evaluates site operations to ensure strong student outcomes and program efficiencies.
  • Responsible for supervision, support, goal setting, training, and coaching of assigned faculty and staff.
  • Develop and execute strategies for the efficient scheduling of all academic events at the learning site in alignment with curriculum and operational standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on operational performance and progress in accordance with predetermined formats and deadlines.
  • Oversee the recruitment and professional development of faculty and staff, ensuring compliance with university, regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing clinical relationships within the community.
  • Provide a positive example to students, faculty & staff by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Establishes and monitors processes to ensure the learning site meets accreditation and regulatory standards and takes appropriate action if remedy is needed.
